Looking for a new postdoc to join us!
The project is part of £1.2M EPSRC funded Healthcare Impact Partnership on “Antimicrobial Bandages for the Treatment of Wound Infections”. We are seeking an experienced individual with well-established skills and expertise to take charge of the biological side of the project. The ability to model infections is a vital research tool to understand bacterial infections. These infection models coupled with ex-vivo skin and corneal models will be key to deciphering cell/bacterial interactions for understanding the evolution of successful pathogens and the development of appropriate therapeutics. You should have a PhD and will be required to establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure relevant and reproducible biological evaluation of the technology; set up and benchmark an ex vivo skin and/or corneal model required to determine the technologies efficacy towards microbial infections. As there is a broad remit required for this post in terms of knowledge of bacteriology and cell biology, training will be provided for any skill required. Additionally, there will be a potential for a secondment at the UK based SME (York, UK) for a short period of time for knowledge transfer. This will include regular presentations and discussions at group meetings, conferences and workshops. The post is available until 30 April 2020.
