Raechelle is appointed Biomedical Material Lead for the Henry Royce Institute

Raechelle has been appointed Biomedical Materials Area Lead for the Henry Royce Institute, bringing her expertise in advanced biomaterials, antimicrobial technologies and translational biomedical engineering to this national leadership role.

Professor D’Sa will work across the Royce network to strengthen the UK’s biomedical materials research landscape, foster new partnerships between academia, industry and healthcare, and identify emerging opportunities for innovation and translation. A key focus will be connecting materials science with unmet clinical needs, accelerating the development of next-generation technologies that can improve patient outcomes.

Her appointment reflects the University of Liverpool’s growing contribution to the UK’s advanced materials research community and builds on her internationally recognised research in antimicrobial biomaterials, infection control and regenerative medicine. Through this role, she aims to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and support the translation of pioneering materials research into real-world healthcare solutions.
