Raechelle D’Sa is a Professor of Antimicrobial Biomaterials at the University of Liverpool. Her research focuses on the development of alternative antimicrobial agents for the for treatment of multidrug resistant infections. The main focus of her research is to develop nitric oxide therapies to be used for skin, ocular, bone and respiratory infections. Most recently, she has pivoted her research to the development of antiviral materials in the fight against COVID-19. She also works with the development of antimicrobial peptides and metals as alternatives to antibiotics. She is passionate about supporting equity in science and training next generation of scientists. She engages widely with clinicians, health professionals, patients, charities and has a significant interest in scientific communication through artistic media
